Bridal Expo!

Hello everyone! I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend!

I want to start by giving my husband a HUGE Thank You! He is sharing this ride with me and has been a huge support and help on a daily basis so I can get every lesson done in a timely manner and with the least interruptions as possible. Also, I want to extend a special thanks my sisters, Yaritza and Nancy, and my mom Salustia, for always being there for my family and I. Whenever I need a favor, a babysitter, advice, when I need to share good news, and when I want to have fun, I can always count on them! My family means the world to me, I do what I love with their help, and I couldn't do this alone!

On that note, I would like to share that I have completed Unit 1! First four lessons complete with an 80%, 100%, 100% and an 85%! I have learned the best times and places I can get my work accomplished successfully. I made my next tuition payment and now I'm just waiting for Unit 2. I love the course so far! Everything is explained clearly, the lessons are just the right length; the books are colorful and easy to read... it feels like you're reading a magazine rather than a text book. The instructions are easy to follow and listening to the CD's in like being in the same room and having a conversation with them instead of a long boring lecture. I'm looking forward towards the future with an open mind and big hopes; we will see where this road takes us!

We recently attended the Bridal Expo at the Double Tree Hotel in Oakbrook. There were many booths for many vendors including invitations, florists, photography and videography, tuxedos, venues, honeymoons, caterers... everything you need for a wedding! We got there just in time to see the runway show for bridal gowns and bridesmaids/special occasion dresses. Mario served as my photographer the entire day. We only took pictures with our phones so I apologize if the pictures aren't the best quality.

If you liked the pictures and would like to attend the next Bridal Expo, the upcoming dates and locations are:
  • Wednesday, May 16th, 2012 at the Chevy Chase C.C., in Wheeling, IL 6pm-10pm
  • Sunday, May 20th, 2012 at the Hyatt Regency, Shaumburg, IL 11:30am- 4pm &
  • Wednesday, June 13th, 2012 at the Marriot Hotel, Naperville, IL 6pm-10pm
I was going through a couple wedding websites the other night and I found the cutest wedding cake topper ever! There are funny ones, romantic ones, traditional, and personalized toppers, all customized to your skin and hair color. I love them, I'll share them on my next post so come back soon! Everyone have a great week!

Thanks!

Hello! To everyone who has read my previous post, I thank you from the bottom of my heart! I have been amazed at how much love and support I have received since letting everyone know of my decision to further my education and follow my dreams. I am truly blessed by my surrounding friends and family.

I want to share that I have completed lesson 3 tonight with another 100% A+. Unit 1 contains 4 lessons, I will be looking into how soon I can receive my next unit tomorrow. I would hate to sit around and wait weeks before I receive it. I'm pumped, I want to move forward!

As promised I mentioned I would put up a few pics of projects I've worked on. I'm only beginning, I have a lot more to practice and experience, but I always try my best!

Mario and I put these baby shower favors together for my first baby shower.

Leo's 1st Birthday banner I painted for his jungle safari theme.
Fish birthday favors! Everyone that took one home loved them, and they lived a long time!

I made Leo's 2nd Birthday cake! Toy Story theme!

Boy & Girl Diaper Cakes!

Rang in the New Year with CAKE!

& my latest... Easter 2012 3 layer cake covered and decorated in fondant.

I hope you have enjoyed my pictures! Mario and I recently attended the Bridal Expo at the Double Tree - Oakbrook. I have pictures of some of the stands and the runway show for bridal gowns I would like to share soon. I was a great experience, everyone was very nice, helpful, and I gathered a bunch of info for different types of vendors!

I would like to add that if you like any of my work or would like me to help with creativity or organization for your next celebration you can reach me at adynunezevents@hotmail.com.

Once again, thank you! I hope you everyone has a great rest of the week!

Sincerely,

Ady Nuñez

Hello, I’d like to introduce myself, I’m Ady Nuñezyes Nuñez, but to most people I am just Ady Nunez, and that’s fine too! Well, to begin I would like to say that I am very excited, but my excitement does comes with some nerves, so I do apologize if begin to sound a bit redundant or off track. I have yet to master my blog-writing skills. I’ve worked full-time as an administrative assistant and accounts receivable nearly six years now. I’m a young mom of two very enthusiastic, smart, and handsome boys. The loves of my life are… Leo is 3 ½ years old and just began preschool; Neo Lamar will be 2 pretty soon, and a very supporting, caring, interesting individual who I love, my husband Mario!  These boys put a spring in my step every day and are the main reason behind what I do to strive for better and follow my dreams.
I’ve always considered myself a crafty person. I’ve always loved art, making crafts, building things, baking, cards, and hand-made gifts. I love the time and sentiment that you feel goes into every piece of work you make for someone else. I’m a very visual person and like to create what I think will be beautiful and see what it becomes. Once I had my boys and the baby showers, birthdays, and holidays started coming around my love for entertainment, celebration, and organization kicked into high gear! I love the research and event planning process for any celebration. In a near future I would love to help families and couples plan everything from their Wedding to their child’s 1st Birthday, holiday parties, grand opening, religious celebrations and everything in between!

With the support of my loved ones I have enrolled at Sheffield School for The Complete Course in Wedding & Event Planning. Sheffield School is a licensed and accredited school in New York that offers Distance Education. I am very happy to have found this education online. I will still be able to be at home with my boys, study, and complete lessons at my own pace. This will give me the education, experience, and motivation to pursue a career in this field!

Thank you for taking the time to read this- my very first blog post! Yaay! Come back soon… I’ll be posting a few pictures of crafts and cakes I’ve made!

Thanks!!!
